We are a growing meat wholesale and processing business based in Adelaide, supplying retail, hospitality and foodservice customers across South Australia. We are looking for a hands-on Operations / Production Manager to take ownership of day-to-day production, labour coordination, workflow discipline and operational execution. This is not a desk-only management role.
We need someone who:

You will be responsible for:
- Managing daily production operations
- Staff supervision and labour allocation
- Production planning and workflow coordination
- Order fulfilment accuracy
- Quality control and food safety compliance
- Reducing waste and improving efficiency
- Managing production issues and operational bottlenecks
- Daily reporting to directors
- Driving accountability and discipline on the floor
- Assisting with SOP implementation and process improvement
You will work closely with ownership but will be expected to take real operational responsibility.
Essential:
- Experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, wholesale, FMCG or similar production environments
- Previous leadership or management experience
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage staff and maintain standards under pressure
- Practical problem-solving ability
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Understanding of production efficiency, labour management and workflow systems
Highly regarded:
- Meat industry experience
- Food safety / HACCP knowledge
- Experience managing multicultural teams
- Experience improving systems and operational processes
This role is NOT suitable for someone who:
- avoids difficult conversations
- needs constant direction
- struggles with fast-paced environments
- or prefers purely administrative management
